Most of our fine, furry ladies and gents are semi-feral barn cats, but this guy is the exception and undisputedly the "leader of the pack." While a self-proclaimed outdoor cat, he often visits us in the main house until his skin begins to itch and he demands that the door be opened! Leaves, pine cones, and invisible mice beckon in the great outdoors. Plus, we have a mature maple tree that he hates with a passion.

As the name implies, Yowlz, much like many barn cats, finds it difficult, if not impossible, to shut up. Even when fully engaged with a mound of Meow Mix, he will continue to expound upon all things 'cat' and his uneasy relationship with Big Fur, while Meow Mix kibbles dribble out of his mouth! He will, on occasion, enter the house briefly to loudly proclaim his demands and then leave abruptly.

In a previous life, Toni was some sort of cross between an international jewel thief and Willy Wonka. She seems to have an insatiable sweet tooth, which we discovered after exhaustive investigation. Initially, we suspected that some of our baked goods (displayed at waist level) were being nibbled on by children shopping in the store. Upon further examination, the plastic wraps were sort of shredded, resembling the marks left by barn cats with their claws and teeth. At long last, the international sweets thief was caught in the act after hours. After a protracted trial, the DA sentenced her to house (or farm) arrest.

Wee Meth comes from a long line of barn cats known as the Meth Cats. Mom was the original Meth Cat, aptly named for her incessantly twitching tail. Her first litter included Lil' Meth, who inherited the same tail twitch. The second litter brought us Wee Meth, who also shares this distinctive trait. Although she is still a barn cat, she has started to warm up to the humans around here, and I believe it has something to do with the Meow Mix!

Muppet has been around for a while and has grown less feral. I will not incriminate Forge Hill, but several years ago, in the spring, while I was spreading Meow Mix cheer among the barn cats, I came across a former black cat (nameless at the time) who was brilliantly blue from head to tail. I was bent over laughing at him, which he did not care for at all. 'What on earth happened to you?!?' I gasped. 'You look like a muppet!' This encounter became one of my favorite cat stories, and the former nameless cat now had a name!

Skitz no longer suffers from an acute case of schizophrenia, but sadly for her, the name kinda stuck. I would NOT rule out a mild case of schizophrenia, but she no longer runs away erratically at the first sight of a human. In fact, she has joined the group of barn cats on the Stone House front porch, known as The Five Cats of the Apocalypse, as the fifth cat.

Lil' Fur is essentially a smaller, carbon copy of the aforementioned Big Fur, right down to the unevenly sized white boots on his hind legs. He is rather 'happy-go-lucky' and enjoys the company of the barn cats around him. Sadly, Big Fur renounces all possibility that Lil' Fur is his son. It's a sad tale (or tail, as it were), but Lil' Fur has accepted the fact that his father will not acknowledge his fatherly duty. Management squashed my request for a DNA test.

Watch out for this one! Extremely feral and has little or no interest in Meow Mix. Ragnar is one of those barn cats you will rarely, if ever, see wandering about Forge Hill. Thankfully, I can safely report that we have had no maulings at Forge Hill. If you see him, distract him with a laser pointer. Works every time.

HEY!! How did HE get in here?!? He must have chewed his way into our website! I don't know how to delete him and despite his declaration, suffice to say that here at Forge Hill, we love cats, dogs, and humans as well. And I, uh, suppose we tolerate squirrels too.
While this delectable cat food has been mentioned countless times above, we want to clarify that we have no sponsorship deals with Meow Mix. Our furry associates, including our barn cats, love it above all other cat foods. We've even conducted side by side tests with various cat foods, and Meow Mix is the clear favorite.
